Construction Notice - Highland Drive Re-Lining Watermain
Crews from Fer-Pal Incorporated will be working to complete the re-lining of the existing watermain on Highland Drive from Princes Street North to McLeod Avenue.
The anticipated work period begins Monday, May 6th through to Monday, July 22nd, 2024.
Residents in this area need to know that:
- A temporary water system will need to be set-up.
- The system runs above ground and the temporary watermain will likely cross the front of your property including your lawn and driveway.
- The temporary watermain will be immovable.
- Where it crosses your driveway, crews will cover the temporary line with gravel to allow you to drive over it and access your property.
- Because it’s above ground, the temporary watermain may warm up in the sunshine, meaning you may experience a brief amount of warmer water through your taps when they’re first turned on.
- We recommend running your taps before using the flow to ensure cold, fresh water is coming through.
- The temporary main meets all requirements set out in the Ontario Regulations and Safe Drinking Water and the quality will be safe throughout the project.
- During the end of the project, there will be some water disruptions as final connections are made. Residents will be provided with door-to-door notices in advance of this.
