Council Highlights - January 22nd, 2025

The Municipality of Kincardine Council Meeting was held in Council Chambers at 1475 Concession 5, RR #5 Kincardine at 5:00 p.m.

Highlights from the meeting include:

Comprehensive Zoning By-law Report

Council received the Draft Comprehensive Zoning By-law as information for review and public engagement. The Public Meeting will be held February 12, 2025, in accordance with the Planning Act.

Memorandum of Understanding for Planning Services Report

Council authorized a Memorandum of Understanding Agreement with the County of Bruce for Planning Services for the Municipality of Kincardine. The purpose of this Agreement is to outline the framework of planning services by the County with the Municipality.

Community Improvement Plan Report

Council approved that the 2025 Community Improvement Plan (CIP) Program and funding continue to support beautification in the downtowns; directed staff to work with Bruce County Economic Development staff to assist with the implementation and administration of the programs; and directed staff to utilize $20,000 from the proposed 2025 CIP budget to continue with Bruce County’s Spruce the Bruce Program.

Upcoming Meetings

The next Municipality of Kincardine Special Council Meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Monday January 27th, 2025 and the next regular Council Meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12th, 2025. These meetings will be held in Council Chambers at the Municipal Administration Centre, 1475 Concession 5, RR #5 Kincardine
