Highlights from the meeting include:

Comprehensive Zoning By-law Public Meeting Repot

The Municipality of Kincardine has initiated a comprehensive review of Zoning By-law, which is a legal document that specifies how land can be used through regulations. The purpose of the Public Meeting was to complete a comprehensive update to the Zoning Bylaw by receiving comments and feedback from the public, key stakeholders and commenting authorities. The commenting period will close November 22, 2024, and the By-law will be presented to Council at a future meeting.

Strategic Plan Report

Kelly Linton from Linton Consulting provided an update on the Strategic Action Plan. Council reviewed the Municipality of Kincardine Setting Priorities & Achieving Results: Strategic Action Plan Final Report dated November 6, 2024 and will have a special meeting to discuss further.

3 Hour Parking Limit on Queen Street Report

Council approved an Amendment to the Traffic and Parking By-law to implement a 3-hour parking limit on Queen Street in Kincardine everyday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Durham Market Square South to Durham Street. They also approved $11,920 be included for consideration in the 2025 budget for the signage, communications and legal fees for the implementation of the new parking restrictions.

The next Municipality of Kincardine Council meeting is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27th, 2024. This meeting will be held in Council Chambers at the Municipal Administration Centre, 1475 Concession 5, RR #5 Kincardine.
