Secord Monument Information Report

Council approved removing the second Secord Monument permanently from public display and that the monument be decommissioned. More information on the monument can be found on the Municipal website.

Options to Fill Vacant Office of Ward 1 Councillor Report

The office of Councillor Doug Kennedy was declared vacant. Council chose to fill the vacancy by appointing an eligible elector by Sunday November 10, 2024. The procedure includes an application process for eligible electors, and Council will nominate and vote on the eligible candidates at a future meeting. The person appointed to fill a vacancy shall hold the office for the remainder of the term of this Council.

Impact Assessment Agency of Canada – Bruce C Report

Bruce Power is proposing the construction of a new nuclear generating station, the Bruce C Nuclear Project, on its existing site. The project is subject to an integrated assessment under both the Impact Assessment Act and the Nuclear Safety and Control Act. Council endorsed the Municipality of Kincardine Submission to the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission on the Initial Project Description for the Bruce C New Nuclear Project.

The next Municipality of Kincardine Council meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. This meeting will be held in Council Chambers at the Municipal Administration Centre, 1475 Concession 5, RR #5, Kincardine.
