We've got some emergency alerting system testing scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 17th and Thursday, July 18th, 2024.
JULY 17TH
Alert FM and Kincardine Alert Systems will be tested at approximately 12 p.m. EST (noon)
JULY 18TH
Siren testing around Bruce Power between 10 a.m. and noon EST.
PLEASE - let your friends, family, and neighbours know about the testing so everyone knows THIS IS JUST A TEST!
What's Alert FM?
Alert FM devices are provided to everyone (residents and businesses) within 10 kilometers of Bruce Power. If you don't have one or your Alert FM is reading 'no service', you need to contact the Community Emergency Management Coordinator at so he can get you hooked up.
What's Kincardine Alert?
Kincardine Alert (RAVE) is an app designed to communicate with the public before, during, and after an emergency. It's available to anyone in the Municipality and it's FREE. There's no spam and you should only receive notifications when we're testing (annually in July) or when there's an actual emergency. Sign-up today!
What are the Bruce Power Sirens?
There are 9 sirens placed around the perimeter of the Bruce Power site to alert residents in the area in the unlikely event of a facility emergency. It is designed to notify people in a 3 kilometer radius around Bruce Power, though it can often be heard much farther.
