Facility Closures and Program Cancellations - January 28, 2025 - 9 p.m. Update

Well, here we are again. It's Tuesday, January 28th, 2025 at 9 p.m. We're under a winter weather travel advisory along with a snow squall watch. We also remain under a significant weather event. 

With the ongoing and forecasted weather conditions, we're looking ahead to tomorrow, Wednesday, January 29th, 2025 and, based on the current weather predictions for overnight and into tomorrow along with current road closures, there will be some facility closures and program changes:
 
🟢 The Davidson Centre will open at 6 a.m.
⛔ The pool at the Davidson Centre is closed with the 6:15 a.m. lane swim cancelled
🔶 The Tiverton Sports Centre will open at its regular time if Highway 21 has reopened
🔶 The Underwood Community Centre will open at its regular time if Highway 21 has reopened
⛔ 10 a.m. Cardio Dance is cancelled
⛔ 11 a.m. Pilates is cancelled

***PLEASE NOTE: Closures and cancellations may change by morning depending on the conditions and highway closures. We will provide further updates in the morning.

⛔ The Ontario Provincial Police - West Region are reporting that Highway 21 from Amberley to Port Elgin is closed.
⛔ Bruce County road closures are available on their Bruce County Road Conditions webpage.

Travel is not recommended this evening unless absolutely urgent. Please stay home and stay safe. If you do decide to travel, remember:
➡️ be patient and give plow operators room to do their work
➡️ turn on your vehicle's lighting system - automatic lights don't turn on your rear lights, so you need to actually turn the system on to help your vehicle to be seen from behind
➡️ keep your vehicle cleared of snow, especially the headlights and taillights
➡️ keep your speed down - if you see snow, go slow
