Facility Closures and Program Updates - February 17, 2025 - 9 p.m. Update

It's been a long day today, Monday, February 17th, 2025, and we hope you're all safe and warm at home. We remain under a Significant Weather Event declaration and a snow squall warning. As of 9 p.m.:

⛔ All Municipality of Kincardine rural roads are considered closed.

⛔ The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reporting multiple road closures across southwestern Ontario. Details are available at https://511on.ca/ 

⛔ South Bruce OPP are advising that ALL county roads in Bruce County are considered closed and plows are off the roads. AVOID ALL TRAVEL. If you are stranded, call 9-1-1 to tell police your location and if you're blocking any part of the road. Clear your exhaust of any snow.

⛔ Bruce County roads are closed and plows have been pulled from patrol routes. Visit https://www.brucecounty.on.ca/road-conditions for details and updates.

❗ Looking ahead to tomorrow, Tuesday, February 18th, 2025, the forecast is looking much the same as today. Hopefully crews will be able to start clean-up early in the morning as they usually do. As we anticipate that it's going to take some time to clean things up, there are some closures to ensure we're all staying out of the way while operations does their work:

⛔ The Davidson Centre will be closed until at least noon. We will monitor conditions and road closures and provide an update just before lunch hour about whether we can safely open.
⛔ All drop-in activities and programs before noon are cancelled:

  • 8:30 a.m. Snooker
  • 9 a.m. Parent and Tot Skate
  • 9 a.m. Pilates
  • 9:30 a.m. Aquafit
  • 10 a.m. Huff n' Puff
  • 10:30 a.m. Yoga
  • 10:30 a.m. Parent and Tot Swim
  • 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Lane Swims
  • 11:30 a.m. Public Skate

⛔ The Municipal Administration Centre is closed with staff who are able to working remotely.
⛔ The Underwood Community Centre will be closed for the day and 1 p.m. Seniors' Cards are cancelled.
⛔ The Tiverton Sports Centre is closed in the morning and an update will be provided to renters by the early afternoon about possible opening depending on conditions.

We will continue to monitor conditions and closures. We will have an update in the morning by approximately 8 a.m., so please stay tuned.
