Facility Closures and Program Updates - February 18, 2025 - 11:30 a.m. Update (1)

Another wintery day is coming to a close this evening, Tuesday, February 18th, 2025. We're still under a Significant Weather Event declaration and a snow squall warning. As of 8:45 p.m.:

South Bruce OPP and our operations team are still asking all motorists to PLEASE STAY OFF THE ROADS. Stuck vehicles and stranded motorists just slow down the clean-up process, so please - don't travel. 

⛔ All Municipality of Kincardine rural roads are considered closed.

⛔ Goderich Street from Bruce Avenue to Huronville is also closed.

‼️ Operations crews will be in Lakeside Downtown Kincardine beginning just after midnight tonight for snow removal on Queen Street from Durham Market Square South to Broadway Street and on various corners in the downtown area. Expect delays while this work is completed.

⛔ The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reporting multiple road closures across southwestern Ontario. Details are available at https://511on.ca/ 

⛔ South Bruce OPP are advising that ALL county roads in Bruce County remain closed. AVOID ALL TRAVEL. If you are stranded, call 9-1-1 to tell police your location and if you're blocking any part of the road. Clear your exhaust of any snow.

❗ For tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19th, 2025, it's looking like the day will start with a forecast much like we've had for the last couple of days. Crews will continue clean-up efforts starting in the early hours of the morning. We do have some closures to help keep us all out of the way while the operations team does their work:

⛔ The Davidson Centre will be closed until at least noon. This means there is no access to the health club, track arena, pool, or gym. We provide an update just before lunch hour about if and when we can safely open.
⛔ All drop-in activities and programs before noon at the Davidson Centre are cancelled:
• 6:15 a.m. Lane Swim
• 9 a.m. Pilates
• 9 a.m. Seniors' Cards
• 9 a.m. Pickleball
• 9:30 a.m. Aquafit
• 10 a.m. Cardio Dance
• 11 a.m. Pilates
• 11:30 a.m. Lane Swim
⛔ Bluewater Girls' hockey games at 9 and 10:30 a.m. are cancelled.

⛔ The Underwood Community Centre will remain closed until at least noon.

⛔ The Tiverton Sports Centre is closed in the morning and an update will be provided to renters by the early afternoon about possible opening depending on conditions.

We will continue to monitor conditions and closures. We will have an update in the morning by approximately 8 a.m., so please stay tuned.
