Facility Closures and Program Updates - February 7, 2025 - 12 p.m. Update

Happy Friday, everyone. As of 12 p.m. today, Friday, February 7th, 2025, we remain under a Significant Weather Event declaration and have facility and road closures:

⛔ The Municipal Administration Centre is closed. All staff who are able to are working remotely, though there may be service disruptions as a result of this closure.
🟢 The Davidson Centre, including the pool, is open with all programming running as scheduled for those who can arrive safely.
⛔ The Underwood Community Centre is closed.
⛔ Tiverton Sports Centre is closed and user groups are being notified.
🟢 Bruce Area Solid Waste Recycling (BASWR) is completing pick-up as scheduled, except for stops on closed roads.

We will continue to assess conditions and roads and provide further updates if there are changes. If programming isn't listed as cancelled, it is running as scheduled for those who can arrive safely. Check for updates throughout the day or call the Davidson Centre at 519-396-3491 before heading out to make sure things are a go.

Operations crews are out there continuing to get things cleaned up. Road closures at the time of this post include:

⛔ The Ontario Provincial Police - West Region are reporting that:
• Highway 21 from Amberley to Southampton is closed

⛔ Bruce County road closures can be found on their road conditions webpage.

⛔ Municipality of Kincardine Road Closures include:
• Sideroad 5S from Southline to Huron-Kincardine West Boundary

If you choose to travel today, please do so with caution and NEVER drive on a closed road.
➡️ be patient and give plow operators room to do their work
➡️ turn on your vehicle's lighting system - auto lights don't turn on your rear lights, so you need to actually turn them on to help your vehicle to be seen from behind
➡️ keep your vehicle cleared of snow, especially the headlights and taillights
➡️ keep your speed down - if you see snow, go slow
