Embracing Diversity Through Dialogue at the Hindu Culture Open House

KINCARDINE, ON – An open invitation to residents of Grey, Huron, and Bruce counties invites them to learn and celebrate the Hindu culture at a community open house on Saturday, August 12th in Kincardine.

Hosted on behalf of the Swajan Samanvay Sanatan Centre, in partnership with the Municipality of Kincardine, Welcoming Communities Grey Bruce, Bruce Power, Bruce County, and Grey Bruce Local Immigration Partnership (GBLIP), everyone is welcome at the free event running from 2 to 6 p.m. at Victoria Park in Kincardine.

The Hindu community in Grey Bruce is growing and positively contributing to the region in several areas. The open house is an opportunity to ‘Embrace Diversity Through Dialogue’ and explore Hindu culture within the Canadian multicultural mosaic.

The event allows the community to experience, celebrate, and learn more about Hindu culture and traditions. Participants can take part in Yoga, interactive exhibits, experience meditation, and enjoy traditional Hindu food, music, and dancing.

Chandra Tripathi, who is the founding member of Kincardine Multicultural Celebrations, an annual event since 2003, is the lead organizer for the Hindu Culture open house. Chandra said that he hopes that this event will foster understanding, promote cultural exchange, and build bridges of friendship among our diverse community members. He also hopes it will cultivate pride for Indo-Canadian residents in Huron, Grey, and Bruce counties.

Everyone is welcome to attend the open house and, as Chandra says, “What better way to meet your neighbours than to share in an exciting afternoon of great music and delicious food!”
