Subdivision Development Advances on Bruce Avenue in Kincardine
KINCARDINE, ON – Construction activity is beginning on a vacant, 30-acre property located at the south end of Kincardine. Known as the Brown Subdivision, the development along Highway 21 and Bruce Avenue includes forty-six single family lots, two blocks with medium-density housing and two apartment blocks.
The subdivision agreement met approval with the Municipality of Kincardine Council on October 11th, 2023. Collaborating with municipal staff and B.M. Ross and Associates Ltd., the developer is preparing the site for servicing.
Installation of a new watermain to service the area is resulting in a temporary closure of Bruce Avenue beginning December 4th. Crews hope to complete the work by Friday, December 15th, weather permitting.
Bruce Avenue closures during this time include:
- from Wieck Boulevard to Highway 21 with NO access for local traffic.
- from Princes Street South to Wieck Boulevard with access for local traffic only.
“We are thrilled to see this long-awaited subdivision move forward in the Municipality of Kincardine,” said Mayor Craig. “Our Council and staff have been working diligently to advance developments and increase much-needed housing supply in our community. This development will not only bring over three hundred residential units, but it also includes a broad range of housing types from single family homes to townhouses and apartments.”
Property owner David Brown remarked, “I am really pleased to be moving forward with this great new community in Kincardine. I am also excited about the state-of-the-art communal parkland, trail connections, and stormwater ponds that we will be creating as part of the design.”
The Municipality of Kincardine, developers, and Bruce County are working to continue the positive development momentum seen throughout 2023.
