Love It! A campaign celebrating community launches at Council meeting

KINCARDINE, ON – Councillor Beth Blackwell enthusiastically announced the launch of “Love It!” at the Municipality of Kincardine’s council meeting yesterday evening, February 14th, 2024. The new campaign invites the community to share what they love about living, working, and playing throughout the local area.

“There’s so many special things about our community,” said Blackwell. “This is a chance for people to share the local places and unique experiences that bring them joy and make them feel grateful to live in our incredible community.”

The initiative is simple, with the Municipality asking participants to take a moment to share the things that make them exclaim “Love It!” when it comes to thinking about being a part of the Municipality of Kincardine. It could be a favourite restaurant, store, park, mural, or trail. It could even be a program, facility, or a hidden gem waiting for discovery.

Share the love

Those wishing to share can visit www.kincardine.ca/LoveIt or pick-up and drop-off paper copies at the Davidson Centre, Municipal Administration Centre, or Tiverton Sports Centre.

“This is something that all ages and abilities can participate in,” said Lorie Fioze, Manager of Strategic Initiatives. “Draw pictures, send photos, write poetry… pick your “Love It!” and share.”

The Municipality plans to share the thoughts, drawings, and photos (with permission) in various communications, and at regular council meetings.

The creative ways people can express their enthusiasm for the community with this program is unlimited and there is also no limit to the number of entries an individual may submit. For those who do take the time to enter, random occasional draws for a variety of prizes that celebrate the Municipality of Kincardine adds to the experience.

“There’s no better date to launch a program celebrating our community than on Valentine’s Day! I am looking forward to hearing about what people of all ages love about the Municipality of Kincardine. There’s no place like it on Earth, which is why I ‘Love It!’” smiled Blackwell.
