Media Release: February 28, 2025

Exciting news for the Municipality of Kincardine: new family doctor joining the community

KINCARDINE, ON – The Municipality of Kincardine is thrilled to announce that Dr. Yousry Soliman has signed an agreement to join our team of local physicians. Dr. Soliman will be launching a new family practice within the Kincardine Family Health Organization, as early as May 2025. In addition to his practice, Dr. Soliman will also be practicing at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre’s Kincardine Hospital.

This recruitment is part of the Municipality of Kincardine’s successful participation in Practice Ready Ontario (PRO), a Ministry of Health pilot program. Designed to accelerate the integration of internationally trained physicians into communities with high healthcare needs, the Municipality is fortunate to be one of the first locations to successfully recruit a physician using this service.

The PRO program, which launched in 2023, helps bring internationally trained doctors to Ontario’s healthcare system more quickly by removing the need for additional re-education programs. Like Dr. Soliman, all participating physicians undergo a rigorous 12-week assessment to ensure they meet the standards set by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO.) A three-year commitment to serving rural areas like the Municipality of Kincardine or northern communities is a requirement of the program for participating physicians.

Dr. Soliman brings a wealth of experience to the community. He holds a Doctorate of Medicine from Cairo University Faculty of Medicine, and his career spans across Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Toronto, Northern Ontario, and Bancroft. With a strong background in primary care, urgent care, and emergency services, Dr. Soliman is well-equipped to serve the healthcare needs of area residents.

Dr. Soliman will be accepting new patients when his practice opens. For more information and details on joining the Kincardine Family Health Organization’s online waitlist visit their patient resources webpage  under the heading "Don't Have a Doctor?"

The Municipality of Kincardine would like to thank Bruce Power and the Society of United Professionals for their continued support of physician recruitment and retention.
