Celebrating and Congratulating the Kincardine Scottish Festival

KINCARDINE, ON – The energy of the Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games is a great start to July in Kincardine, and this year was no exception. The three-day event is a favourite among locals and tourists, with its incredible musical line-up, pipe bands, Highland dance competition, and heavy athletic events.

“The Kincardine Scottish Festival is a fabulous example of this community’s spirit,” said Mayor Kenneth Craig. “This year, with the Downtown Dig, things do look different than they have in year’s past. We thank the organizers of this event for collaborating with us to ensure the show could go on.”

Pulling together a showstopping event, festival organizers are pleased with this year’s results. “Thanks to help of our Municipality, its committees, Council, and the community, we have proven we can overcome many challenges as a group!” said Patrick Doherty, the Festival’s Director of Corporate Affairs.

“The location of this event is what makes it so special and a favourite of competitors and performers who compete in fields and ball diamonds all over Ontario every other weekend. Kincardine’s Victoria Park provides a unique and intimate setting offering an abundance of shade, shelter, and a welcoming small-town atmosphere like no other Scottish Festival location across Ontario.

“The Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games, a band and fan favourite, is the ‘gem on tour’ for competing bands and performers. Welcoming tourists, friends, and families annually to experience what it means to be a stranger only once, we help create family traditions, memories, and long-lasting friendships in the heart of Kincardine.”

Doherty concludes, “thank you to the community and our volunteers for another amazing year! See you all again next year in beautiful downtown Victoria Park. Céad Míle Fáilte!”

The festival team are barely taking a rest following this year’s success with the 2024 event already in their sights. It will be the organization’s 25th annual festival with their website already counting down to the events starting on July 5th, 2024.

Mayor Craig smiled when asked about next year’s event: “We look forward to working with the Kincardine Scottish Festival as they plan for what is sure to be a spectacular 25th anniversary. In the meantime, our continued thanks to the sponsors, volunteers, and participants who help make this, and every local event, successful. We are truly better together.”
