Representing at the Canadian Nuclear Association and the Canadian Association of Nuclear Host Communities Conferences
From February 28th to March 1st, the Canadian Nuclear Association (CNA) are hosting their annual conference in Ottawa, Ontario. The theme for this three-day event is “Foundations for Success” with a focus on fostering relationships that play a role in Canada’s clean energy future.
As home to a world-class nuclear facility that produces 30% of Ontario’s energy, the Municipality of Kincardine having a presence at this event is essential. Members of council and municipal staff will be in attendance as the event presents the opportunity to enhance relationships with the nuclear supply chain while promoting the community as a leading area in the clean energy sector.
It is a priority for the current council to not only recognize the value of nuclear power, but the significant role it plays in the community, the province, and even globally. Collaboratively working with Bruce Power and their supplier organizations to understand the future needs and challenges that the Municipality of Kincardine can strategically plan to assist with will play an influential role in the future of clean energy.
Alongside other attendees at CNA 2024, council and municipal staff will hear about ways in which the rapidly expanding nuclear sector relies on healthy, meaningful relationships for greater success in the transition to clean energy.
While attendees are in town for the CNA 2024 conference, the Canadian Association of Nuclear Host Communities (CANHC) are also holding their annual meeting. The not-for-profit association provides support to nuclear host communities, helping them work together to develop best practices for local governments and community benefit while supporting the advancement of Canada’s nuclear technology.
