Road and Facility Closures; Cancellations due to weather - December 12th, 2024 - 9:15 a.m. Update

We remain under a Blizzard Warning this morning in the Municipality of Kincardine. A significant weather event was also declared yesterday and remains in place.

These are the updated road and facility closures along with program cancellations due to the conditions as of 9:15 a.m. this morning:

⛔ ***NEW - All drop-in programs at the Davidson Centre are cancelled for today. Registered programs such as archery and swimming lessons are cancelled. The Davidson Centre remains open for those who can get there safely.
⛔ ***NEW - The Municipality of Kincardine is pulling all plows from rural roads due to the conditions.
⛔ Bruce Road 23 between Lorne Beach Road and Bruce Road 15 is closed
⛔ Highway 9 between Kincardine and Walkerton is closed.
⛔ Bruce Area Solid Waste Recycling has pulled their trucks from the roads. Kincardine Township recycling will be picked-up on the next scheduled collection day. Garbage scheduled for today will be picked up tomorrow.
⛔ The Waste Management Centre in Armow will be closed as of 9 a.m.
⛔ Highway 21 from Amberly to Port Elgin is closed 
⛔ The Municipal Administration Centre at 1475 Concession 5, Kincardine, will be closed for the day.
⛔ Tiverton Sports Centre is closed
⛔ The pool at the Davidson Centre is closed
⛔ Landfit at the Davidson Centre is cancelled

If you choose to travel, a reminder to keep your headlights and taillights on and clear of snow. Never drive on a closed road and please, do not call 9-1-1 for road closures or conditions.
