Roads Update - February 20, 2025

As of 2:30 p.m., Thursday, February 20th, 2025, our operations crews are making some good progress on some stubborn sideroad drifts.

🟡 Please, continue to take your time if you're choosing to travel in the Municipality of Kincardine, especially on the rural side roads.

🟡 Crews will continue work tomorrow to further open the lanes on  Bruce Saugeen Townline from Sideroad 33-24 to Bruce Greenock Boundary. Particular caution should be used in this area as the bends in the road will take some time to get opened completely.

❗ Crews will be in both Kincardine and Tiverton doing snow removal tomorrow morning:
➡️ Kincardine starting at 2 a.m.
• Broadway Street from Queen Street to Sutton Street
• Princes Street from Broadway Street to Lambton Street
• Various corners in these areas
➡️ Tiverton starting at 3 a.m.
• From main traffic areas

⛔ Sideroad 5S between Southline and the Huron-Kincardine West Boundary remains closed.

⛔ The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are still reporting multiple road closures across southwestern Ontario. Details at https://511on.ca/ 

⛔ Bruce County is reporting that Bruce Road 23 From Bruce Road 15 to Bruce Road 20 remains closed. For more County road updates: https://www.brucecounty.on.ca/road-conditions 

If you must travel: 
➡️ for road conditions and other traveler information, visit https://511on.ca/ or call 5-1-1. Never call 9-1-1 for road conditions or closures.
➡️ be patient and give plow operators room to do their work
➡️ turn on your vehicle's lighting system - auto lights don't turn on your rear lights, so you need to actually turn them on to help your vehicle to be seen from behind
➡️ keep your vehicle cleared of snow, especially the headlights and taillights
➡️ keep your speed down - if you see snow, go slow
