Rural Roads Opening with Caution - February 19, 2025

Rural roads in the Municipality are reopening with a caution this afternoon, Wednesday, February 19, 2025. Please note:

🟡 Concession roads are in good shape.

Many side roads are still quite full, with some down to a single lane of travel. Crews are working to get these fully cleared, but it will take some time. These roads should be avoided, if possible:

🟡 Saugeen Street from Broadway Street to Kingsway Street
🟡 Goderich Street from Bruce Avenue to the pumping station
🟡 Bruce Saugeen Townline from Sideroad 33-24 to Greenock-Bruce Road North
🟡 Sideroad 20 from Concession 12 to Bruce Saugeen Townline
⛔ Sideroad 5S between Southline and the Huron-Kincardine West Boundary will remain closed until further notice.

⛔ The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reporting multiple road closures across southwestern Ontario. Details are available at https://511on.ca/

If you can limit your travel to essential needs only, it is both recommended and appreciated.

If you do choose to travel:
➡️ NEVER drive on a closed road.
➡️ keep your speed down - if you see snow, go slow
➡️ keep your vehicle clear of snow, especially the headlights and taillights
➡️ be patient and give plow operators room to do their work
➡️ turn on your vehicle's lighting system - auto lights don't turn on your rear lights, so you need to actually turn things on to help your vehicle be seen from behind
