Tiverton Sports Centre Closed - March 1, 2025

The Tiverton Sports Centre is closed this morning, Saturday, March 1st, 2025, due to weather conditions and the closure of Highway 21 from Kincardine to Southampton. 

⛔ Figure skating at the Tiverton Sports Centre is cancelled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

We're continuing to monitor conditions and closures. We'll provide any update by noon on whether the Tiverton Sports Centre can be safely opened in the afternoon.

Operations crews are reporting that rural roads are snow covered with icy sections, winds are high and visibility is poor to nil. In town roads and sidewalks have icy sections with good to fair visibility. Please use caution if you're choosing to travel in the community.

If you choose to travel today: 
➡️ keep your vehicle cleared of snow, especially the headlights and taillights
➡️ turn on your vehicle's lighting system - auto lights don't turn on your rear lights, so you need to actually turn them on to help your vehicle to be seen from behind
➡️ keep your speed down - if you see snow, go slow
➡️ be patient and give plow operators room to do their work
