Canada Day Weekend Festivities and Long Weekend Closures

Canada Day Weekend has arrived, and the festivities start this evening, Friday, June 28th! Visit the community events calendar for full details on everything happening in the community.

Friday, June 28th, 2024

Join us in lakeside downtown Kincardine from 6 to 9 p.m. for the first Cruise Night of the season.

Saturday, June 29th, 2024

The Kincardine Saturday Farmers’ Market at Connaught Park is cancelled this week due to forecasted weather conditions - they'll be back July 6th!

The Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band Saturday Night Parade is on at 8 p.m. on Queen Street in Kincardine – don’t miss this summer tradition!

Sunday, June 30th, 2024

Outdoor Movie Night in Tiverton begins at 5 p.m. with a touch-a-truck, a barbecue hosted by the Tiverton and District Lions Club, food vendors, lawn games, and activities. Roll-up in your cardboard car creation for “Shawn the Sheep” at approximately 9 p.m. between the ball diamonds.

Summer Sing-a-long in Dunsmoor Park in Kincardine is also an option for your entertainment. This week’s feature performer is TNT Boom who take the stage from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Monday, July 1st, 2024

The Canada Day parade kicks off the day’s events at 3 p.m. on Queen Street in Kincardine.

The opening ceremony is at 3:30 p.m. at the flagpole at the bottom of Harbour Street along with family-friendly fun following in Macpherson Park, and from 4 to 8 p.m. there will be fire bowls set-up on the beach for all to enjoy as you wait for the fireworks show at dusk!

The Canada Day holiday does affect some Municipal services:

What’s Open on July 1st

  • Welcome Centre Pop-Up location at MacPherson Park from 3 to 7 p.m.
  • Market in the Park from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in Victoria Park
  • Regular curbside waste and recycling collection

What’s Closed on July 1st  

  • Welcome Centre at 707 Queen Street – visit the pop-up at MacPherson Park!
  • Municipal Administration Centre at 1475 Concession 5, Kincardine
  • Davidson Centre at 601 Durham Street, Kincardine
  • Tiverton & District Sports Centre at 20 McLaren Street, Tiverton
  • Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services Administration Office at 127 Mahood-Johnston Drive, Kincardine
  • Underwood Satellite Office and Bruce Township Community Centre at 1240 Concession 6, Underwood
  • Kincardine Waste Management Centre at 437 Sideroad 15, Armow
