What’s Open on February 17th

• The Davidson Centre at 601 Durham Street in Kincardine is open with special Family Day programming:
  • 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Health Club open for members
  • 11:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. Public Skating sponsored by Kincardine Quick Lube
  • 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Family Swim sponsored by Dairy Queen
  • 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Drop-In Gym and Kinder Gym sponsored by MicroAge Basics
  • 2 p.m. Kincardine Bulldogs vs. Goderich Flyers – regular admission applies.
• Regular curbside waste collection

Winterfest in Tiverton

The annual favourite is on from Friday, February 14th to Sunday, February 16th:

Friday, February 14th

• Family Games Night - Hot dogs and snacks for purchase, Sweet Pea face painting, and crafts. Something for everyone and fun for the whole family at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre from 5 - 8 p.m. Cost: Free, donations are welcome. Hosted by: Tiverton Agricultural Society. Sponsored by: Esthetics by Robin.

Saturday, February 15th

• Tiverton Winterfest Firefighter Pancake Breakfast at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre from 8 - 11 a.m. Cost is by donation and hosted by the Tiverton Fire Association.
• Tiverton Thunder Road Hockey Tournament - youth, teen, and adult teams at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre - Parking lot beside the Annex (Corner of Ross Street and McKay Street). Games start at 10 a.m. and proceeds to fund a computer lab in an orphanage in Haiti. Cost: Team Donations. Text Lisa for details at 519-385-5021.
• Dog Sled Rides - Dress warm as you’ll mush your way around the ball diamonds beside the Lions’ Hall from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Contact: Daphne Ireland
• Winterfest Story Time - Come and warm up from the chilly weather during the Winterfest for story time and crafts at the Tiverton Library from 11 a.m. – Noon. Hosted by: Tiverton Library and there is no cost.
• Snow Sculpture Contest - Depending on Mother Nature! Get creative with snow! Register your sculpture with Lion Ron Manto at 519-368-5386. Prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd! Snow piles will be located at the ball diamonds beside the Tiverton Lions Hall. Start to sculpt any time after February 10th. Judging takes place Saturday, February 15th at noon. Hosted by the Tiverton Lions Club with no cost.
• Hot Dogs and Hot Chocolate available at the Tiverton Lions Hall from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Hosted by the Tiverton Lions Club at no cost.
• Progressive Euchre Tournament in the Knox Presbyterian Church Basement - Activity Room at 1 p.m. Cost is $5 per player for this event hosted by the Knox Presbyterian Church Group.
• Cornhole Tournament starts at 3 p.m. and goes until the winning team is crowned. Licensed event - drinks available by purchase. Proceeds supporting Tiverton Digger Hockey Team. Entry Fee: $50 per team of 2. Register now: call/text Kelly or Steve at 519-386-6221.
• Port Elgin Lions Club Mega TV Bingo with TV viewing at our local Tiverton Lions Hall from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with multiple games - 16 in total! - prizes totaling $5,450.00! Last game jackpot is $2,500. Tickets: $30 and contact Lion Guy Martin to purchase your tickets in advance at 519-368-7871. Hosted by the Tiverton and District Lions Club

Sunday, February 16th

• Annual Winterfest Worship Service and Chili Luncheon at Tiverton Knox Presbyterian Church. 10 a.m. service with luncheon following at 11:30 a.m. Hosted by Knox Presbyterian Church and the cost is free.
• Family Fun Skating Party with face painting by Lisa Leyes at the Tiverton Sports Complex with public skating from noon - 1 p.m.; face painting sponsored by The King’s Pearl Pub and Eatery from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.; and Hot Dogs and Hot Chocolate sponsored by the Tiverton Lions Club from noon - 2 p.m. All with no cost!
• Horse Drawn Wagon Rides at the Tiverton Community Centre from 1 - 5 p.m.
• Hot Chocolate and Cookies outside the Tiverton Community Centre from 1 - 5 p.m. provided by the Tiverton Baptist Church.
• Tiverton Agricultural Society Spaghetti Dinner at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre from 5 - 7 p.m. Cost: Adults $20, Seniors and Students $15, with 10 and under free. Hosted by the Tiverton Agricultural Society
