It is with deep sadness that the Municipality of Kincardine announces the passing of Councillor Doug Kennedy.

A dedicated public servant who spent decades giving to our community as a councillor, committee chair, coach, community organizer, neighbour, friend and, most importantly, family member.

A media release has been issued about Councillor Kennedy's death.

A lasting legacy

A well-known and beloved figure, Councillor Kennedy served as a municipal councillor for nearly 6 years. His deep roots in the community and commitment to advocating for issues such as health care and the improvement of recreation facilities has left an indelible mark on the Municipality of Kincardine.

As we grieve this loss as a community, may we be reminded of Councillor Kennedy's ability to see the good in all things. His dedication to our community and its youth was unwavering, always. He pursued big dreams without reservation, always striving to make the world better than it was when he got there.

The tribute of lowering all municipal flags in his honour acknowledges both his years of service and dedication to our community.
