The hospital maintains a 17 bed acute care unit including; 3 SCU beds. Services provided through the hospital are laboratory, diagnostic imagining (radiology, ultrasound, BMD, mammograms), newly built operating room, day surgery, 24/7 emergency department, decontamination room for Bruce Power and Specialist Clinics.

The Emergency Department is staffed by the area physicians on a rotating schedule with the day being divided into two shifts: day call and night call with the off shift backing up the other.

CT scanner is located 35 minutes away and a MRI machine is located 1 hour away

The Kincardine Family Health Team is located next to the local hospital (South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine).

It was newly built in 2003 with a new expansion in the final stages of completion (Summer 2010). Along with housing the Family Practices of the area it contains a retail pharmacy, phlebotomy station and a procedure room. The Physicians' offices and exam rooms are state of the art allowing for large private work spaces and smooth patient flow. The facility has a lift for patients with accessibility issues.

The Kincardine Family Health Team at the Hawthorne Community Clinic have a Nurse Practitioner Same-Day Appointment Clinic.  The Nurse Practitioner is enthusiastic and much needed addition to our medical services that our clinic is able to provide to area residents.
The clinic is dedicated to same-day appointments which will be filled on a first come, first served basis. You need to call your doctors office first to see if there is an appointment, if your family physician’s office does not have availability, you can call the Kincardine Family Health Team for an appointment with a Nurse Practitioner.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A WALK IN CLINIC!
There will be same day appointments available Monday to Friday. Individual appointments for rostered and non-rostered patients. No referral is required.
Strictly limited to only one concern per visit. Patients must first attempt to book with their Physician’s office prior to calling the Kincardine Family Health Team for an appointment.

The Municipality of Kincardine has been working hard alongside Bruce and Grey Counties, 15 other lower-tier Municipalities, 8 police services, 14 police service boards, 3 boards of education, and more than 30 health and social service agencies and community committees on Community Safety and Well-Being Planning (CSWBP).

The Bruce and Grey CSWBP identified 5 priority areas of risk where partners will work together to make measurable improvements on both regional and local issues. These areas include: Addiction and Substance Use, Mental Health, Crime Prevention, Housing and Homelessness, and Poverty and Income.
