Skating

The Municipality of Kincardine owns and operates two indoor ice surfaces, one at the Davidson Centre, and one at the Tiverton Sports Centre. They are both single pad facilities.

Arena Skating Rules

To ensure a safe enjoyable environment for public skating all users are required to observe the following rules:

  • Always Listen and adhere to Arena Staff
  • Do not proceed onto the ice until the Ice Resurfacer is off the ice and the gates are closed
  • The following are prohibited from the ice rink: Animals, Food & Beverages, Tobacco Products, Alcohol, Illegal Drugs, and Profanity
  • Children 7 years of age or younger should be directly supervised by an Adult
  • NO Food or Drink on the ice surface
  • NO horseplay, tag, racing, rough play, etc.
  • NO throwing snow
  • NO balls, pucks, sticks, chairs, pylons, etc. on the ice
  • Skating aid devices are available and permitted for use
  • Skate in the direction of all skaters
  • Helmets are Strongly Recommended for all participants
  • Strollers are permitted if clean and under the discretion of Davidson Centre Staff. Strollers will be asked to be removed if Public Skate volume reaches capacity and/or Davidson Centre Staff deem unsafe to use.
  • Children must not be carried by any means (e.g. sitting on shoulders, being carried in arms or carried in equipment such as “Snugglies” or in back packs.
  • All participants must be wearing skates while on the ice surface – street shoes are not permitted.
