  • Media Release - March 28, 2024 - Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan

    KINCARDINE, ON – An initiative that began with asking individuals to “pipe-up” about parks and recreation in the Municipality of Kincardine came full circle at last night’s council meeting with the receiving of a new Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan. Consultations, with the guidance of McQueen Galloway Associates (MGA), began in the summer of 2023.

    The Municipality of Kincardine has ended the Significant Weather Event declared at 3:20 p.m. on March 20th, 2024 as of 3:54 p.m. today, March 21st, 2024. Please continue to drive cautiously on municipal roads as we continue regular maintenance activities to improve road conditions.

    Staff presented a draft Bruce Telecom Legacy Fund Policy, which would hold the net proceeds from the sale of Bruce Telecom Holdings Inc. in perpetuity. The Policy provides the framework on how the investments would be managed and how the investment earnings would be utilized.

    KINCARDINE, ON – Living along a waterfront has innumerable benefits, but there are also associated hazards. Since 2008, a total of 13 drownings and near-miss incidents have occurred in the waters near the Kincardine piers. A long-standing ban on swimming or jumping from the piers is already in place.
