Recognition and Memorials
You may wish to recognize the achievements of a community member, memorialize a loved one or promote a public awareness campaign. The Municipality has several policies which allow for citizens to request these types of recognitions.
Requests for displaying flags or flag raising's are considered according to the Municipality of Kincardine's adopted Flag Protocol Policy.
You must fill out the Flag Flying Request Form at least 4 weeks prior to the requested date and e-mail to the Executive Assistant.

Our Commemorative Bench program is returning! Applications are open NOW! We have 8 benches available in select locations. Applications will be considered on a first come, first save basis. Once the application is received by staff, we will be in touch to confirm the remaining available locations. Applications will be open until June 30, 2023 or until all spots are filled.

Arts, Culture and Heritage Awards
You can apply to have Council recognize any person or group that achieves provincial, national or international honours in Arts, Culture and Heritage. There are three categories for these awards:
- Arts, Culture & Heritage Achievement Award
- Youth Award
- Long Term Contribution Arts, Culture or Heritage (Scougall) Award
- Long Term Contribution Multi-Culturalism/Diversity Award

You may suggest a name for all or part of a municipal asset. This may include a park, building or piece of equipment, or part of these, like a bridge, fountain, pathway, garden or room. The naming process and guidelines can be found in the Naming of Municipal Parks, Facilities and Assets Policy. You will need to complete an application. If your nomination is for a deceased individual, you will also need to attach a Next of Kin Consent form.

Local Artists may apply to display their art in designated places within municipal buildings. The Indoor Public Art Policy provides details on locations, request and approval process and display guidelines. Approved applicants will also need to submit an Acknowledgment of Terms prior to displaying the artwork.
